Hi! I’m Cindi Firmingham.

 

For those who don’t know me, my husband, Gene, and I own Lot 84 (across from the boat
launch) here at Sleepy Oaks.

 

I fell in love with this place in the 1980s when we would visit Gene’s family members who owned here; I knew that eventually we would HAVE to have our own little spot to call ours; fast forward to a little over a decade ago and here we are.

I ran for the Board of Directors because I would like to be part of the change I wish to see for the Park. I long for the feeling of community that I first experienced all those years ago, and would like to see us get back to that.

 

I would like for all Co-Owners to feel welcome at the Park’s events. I believe this is achievable with patience, understanding, and just basic consideration of one another.

I have sat on multiple non-profit Boards in the positions of Director, Treasurer, and Secretary. When not serving on those Boards, I have also
served as member or Chair of By-Law, Entertainment, Budget and Finance Committees for a number of organizations, and most recently as Co-Chair of your Advisory Committee.

I have a working knowledge of our Governing Documents, as well as Roberts Rules of Order; and believe that as Board Members, we need to be transparent, accountable to the Co-Owners, and available to answer questions that may arise from any situations. I think that the ability to listen, have healthy, productive debate, civil disagreement, and compromise is imperative to serving on any Board, and I believe I can bring those things to the table.

Hello. For those who do not know me, my name is Craig Briggs.

I live on Lot 37 with my wife, Lori. We started at Sleepy Oaks as renters approximately 8 years ago. It was the community spirit of this Park that helped us make the decision to buy.

 

We have 3 boys and 13 grandchildren and nieces and nephews who have enjoyed coming to Sleepy Oaks through the years.

 

I am currently the Chair of the Buoy Committee and work with some amazing men to update and replace aging and broken buoys.

I have a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and retired from General Motors as a General Supervisor in 2019 after 47 years. During that tenure I worked “on the line”, as a journeyman in Tool and Die, and in the Body Shop where I managed skilled trades until I retired.

My hobbies include fishing, hunting and spending time with my family and friends. I enjoy taking something that is broke and making it work again.

My goals as a new Board member are:
 

• Peace for Sleepy Oaks. Encourage community involvement and communication.

• Use my experience to address park concerns and apply that knowledge for ALL Sleepy Oaks co-owners. I feel it is our duty as Board members to enforce our governing documents and educate the Park as to what they are.

• Work towards moving forward the ongoing challenges of the Park such as dredging and updating Bylaws and Rules.

• Work on resolving differences in Sleepy Oaks diplomatically and as quickly as possible.
   

I would like to see Sleepy Oaks become the community that works together to make our Park a fun place to live for all co-owners.
